Welcome to Colchester's Forwards Bereavement Group

Forwards is a Colchester group consisting of those that are single by bereavement.

We meet each week, and also have many events including; group holidays, parties, meals, whist drives, walks, dances and outings to the cinema.

If you are bereaved and would like to join us please come along one Wednesday evening to our meeting

and see if you like it.

We can arrange for somebody to meet you outside the venue so you can be introduced to members of the group on arrival (which most newcomers prefer to do).

What to expect at Forwards?

The purpose of the group is to assist those who have lost their partner by providing a friendly relaxed atmosphere in which they can begin once again to socialise with others in the same position, regardless of the length of bereavement.
We offer empathy rather than sympathy. We may not know exactly how you feel but we have all shared the experience.
Those days when we feel like crying and those days when we feel guilty for enjoying ourselves
But our aim is to bring back the happiness and enjoyment into our lives.

Our members are from all walks of life, of a varied age range, of varied interests and good company!
We organise walks, meals at various pubs and have other regular events.
We have regular group holidays
